Disclaimer: Diagnosis is usually made clinically. If the score from the calculator indicates that you might be at risk please consider visiting a doctor for further evaluation.

One of the most common and easily treated mental diseases is depression, which is frequently seen by a variety of medical professionals, including primary care doctors, medical and surgical specialists, and mental health experts. Sadness along with a loss of interest in previous hobbies are symptoms of depression. Your performance at work and home could be affected and it may also lead to several mental and physical problems.

A self-administered version of the PRIME-MD diagnostic tool for common mental diseases is called the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ). It helps to keep track of how severe depression is and how well therapy is working. In at-risk groups, such as those with coronary heart disease or those who have recently experienced a stroke, it can be utilized to make a preliminary diagnosis of depression.
